OUR VISION

The Frederick Douglass Foundation of Ohio is a non-profit organization, established to advance education and promote innovative solutions to societal challenges. Its purpose is to provide civic and economic education, offer leadership training, and enhance the quality of life in communities. The organization also seeks to educate the public about the life, ideals, and vision of Frederick Douglass, promoting his legacy of individual liberty, justice, and equality. These goals are pursued through outreach, education, and training programs, with a focus on engaging with diverse organizations and upholding the principles of free market economics.

We are a collection of pro-active individuals committed to developing innovative and new approaches to today’s problems.

WHAT WE DO

• Act as liaisons to Black, Faith Based organizations, and elected officials.
• Educate on social, cultural, and civic issues affecting our nation.
• Offer tools for economic empowerment of individuals, families, and businesses within targeted communities.
• Provide leadership training to community members and aspiring civic leaders.

OUR PRINCIPLES

As Members of the Frederick Douglass Foundation of Ohio:

• We believe in individual liberty and the importance of civic engagement in a free society.

• We promote understanding of constitutional principles and the role of limited government in providing public goods.

• We advocate for free market economics as a means to create economic opportunities and benefits for all.

• We encourage citizens to address social challenges through voluntary cooperation in families, churches, neighborhoods, as well as private, charity and voluntary organizations.
